Curriculum Support

You can help inspire the next generation of skilled professionals through our wide range of curriculum support roles. Many of these are classroom based, such as our Learning Support Practitioner opportunities, and give you the opportunity to support students in their development. We also offer non-classroom based opportunities in pastoral teams such as our Information, Advice and Guidance area. These roles provide students with the wraparound support services that enable them to focus their energies on achieving their ambitions.

Katie Jones
Careers and Employment Engagement Officer

Dover Technical College

I have worked at Dover Technical College for nine years, in that time my role as a Careers Advisor has evolved and I now have marketing responsibilities in addition to my Careers Officer role.

The diversity of duties in my role, along with the scope to make the role my own, is what first attracted me to working at the College and continues to drive me to provide a comprehensive careers service that offers the students what they want and need.

I was supported by the group, specifically my manager, to study and complete my Level 6 Diploma in Careers Guidance and Development this year which has been of a huge benefit to my role.

In my time working for the EKC Group I was fortunate to be selected to complete a ‘Step Up’ training programme for staff who have the aspiration to progress onto a management role.

This investment in staff is across all the Colleges and I would say is one of the key benefits of working for the Group.

Dave Newman
Reprographics Assistant

Folkestone College

I feel that it is a very positive experience to work for the EKC Group. I have a bigger variety of work than if I was working in the general reprographics industry, for example, on reception and archiving.

I meet a vast and diverse range of customers, for example, the general public, students, staff, visitors such as engineers and governors, and people from other organisations. It is very interesting work at a large campus with different departments. I don’t feel I would meet so many people if I worked more generally in the reprographics industry.

I have had access to a wider choice of training in the EKC Group than I think I would have had in the general reprographics industry.

Katie Butler
LRC and ILT Coordinator

Ashford College

Working in the Further Education environment is brilliant as it's a dynamic and interactive environment - every day is different. You can see how the sector makes a difference to individuals’ lives.

We are lucky as we have the opportunity to support students throughout their time at College; seeing them not only grow and develop in their abilities and confidence, but really getting to know them well throughout their learning journey.

It's a real joy to see students blossom and go on to study or work in such diverse areas. Supporting young adults keeps you enthusiastic and motivated.

Another bonus is working closely with curriculum and support staff - you're not just a standalone team - you are part of a bigger work family.

I think the biggest positive of moving to the EKC Group is the proactive and positive approach to integrative and new technologies. It's been a game changer!
