About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen at EKC Group for a Music Lecturer with a background in music performance and production. This is predominantly a teaching role, with the expectation to support the development of the curriculum area and develop a centre of excellence—teaching, supporting, and assessing students’ coursework.

As a music lecturer at the Department of Music, Media, and Performing Arts at Canterbury College, you will be responsible for planning and delivering music courses across Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 programmes. You will work among an experienced, dedicated team of music teachers to develop industry links, work-related student projects and activities, and plan a highly relevant and distinctive curriculum to meet the local/regional skills requirements and the student’s needs and support their progression.

About You

Applicants wishing to be considered for the Music Lecturer post must be teacher qualified with at least one year of teaching experience post achievement of the teaching qualification or willing to complete their teaching qualification within the two years of their employment.

We are looking for a candidate with experience of working in the Music Media industry, has current and relevant industry/sector knowledge and a flexible attitude towards new concepts, ideas, and theories in music and pedagogy.

The prime focus of our department is to nurture students’ talent and determination. The ideal candidate will have the energy and enthusiasm to share their knowledge and experience with active and hungry young minds. The successful candidate will be passionate about making a difference in students’ future careers, planning, and delivering engaging and innovative lessons with demonstrated interpersonal skills.

Assessing and tracking student progress and planning further interventions will be a vital part of the role and ensure all students develop the skills they need to succeed.
This is the ideal opportunity for a proven teacher or lecturer to progress their career to the next stage as you will oversee the curriculum provision from the beginning, build relationships with key stakeholders, and deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment.
