About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the East Kent College Group for a Programme Director of Engineering. This is predominantly a teaching role, whilst supporting development of the curriculum area and develop a centre of excellence.

Programme Directors (aka course leaders) will have the opportunity to move up our internal salary scale annually. 

As a Programme Director at EKC group you will plan a highly relevant and distinctive curriculum to meet the local/regional skills requirements, and the needs of the student, in liaison with the Department leadership team to support outstanding progression for students.

Your role responsibilities will also include leading and coordinating your team, so all students receive up-to-date course information through pre-course/programme events and start of course/programme activities to facilitate student understanding of the objectives of the course/programme, assessment schedules and requirements in line with awarding body criteria, including the course/programme handbook.

About You

What are we looking for?

  • Qualified teacher with at least 1 years experience
  • Experience in teaching engineering or relevant subject / industry experience 
  • Ability to lead and coordinate your team 
  • Experience in assessing in line with awarding body criteria
  • Highly organised, creative and innovative in their planning
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Passionate about making a difference to the future careers of our students 
  • Assessing and tracking student progress, to further plan intervention this will be a vital part of the role and ensuring all students develop the skills they need to succeed.

You will provide academic leadership and guidance in this area and managing the curriculum delivery and accreditation. Teaching and vocational experience is essential and strong leadership skills are desirable.
